Welcome to The Fourth Wall, CHIRP's weekly e-conversation on cinema. This week's subject is a recap of the year 2017 at the movies.
This edition is written by CHIRP Radio volunteers Kevin Fullam and Clarence Ewing.
Clarence:
The calendar on the wall says 2017 is all done. Let's honor the film critics code and reflect on the year that was, shall we?
Throughout December, CHIRP Radio presents its volunteers’ top albums of 2017. Here are CHIRP Radio’s Top Ten Albums of 2017! As several of our volunteers have said in their lists, it's been a year. And it's been a historic year for CHIRP Radio, as we took to the broadcast airwaves for the first time at 107.1 FM. Thanks to the support of our fantastic listeners, we plan to keep rocking into 2018 and beyond. In the meantime, here are the albums that were cited the most by our volunteers as their favorites of the year. The #1 spot goes to an artist making her debut album after 5 years of singles. All 10 records are fantastic. As usual, no matter what else is going on, it was a great year for music. Happy New Year! |
Throughout December, CHIRP Radio presents its volunteers’ top albums of 2017. Our next list is from Founder, General Manager, and DJ (Saturday 12-2pm) Shawn Campbell. 2017 was a year. Rather than dwell on the darker parts, though, I want to celebrate the great music that came out as we finally achieved the founding dream of the organization and launched our broadcast at 107.1FM. It's been so gratifying to see how much that still means to people, and I've been so happy to get to play these records (and tons more) on the terrestrial, as well as the internet, airwaves. |
Throughout December, CHIRP Radio presents its volunteers’ top albums of 2017. Our next list is from Assistant Music Director/DJ/Softball Team Manager Austin B. Harvey. A lot happened this year. I probably missed some things. We’ll do better next year. |
